Actor and musician Corey Feldman is trying to raise money to make a feature film about the pedophilia he and others experienced in Hollywood as child actors.
Feldman has brought forth the issue on numerous occasions during his career, including via television shows, interviews, and books. But he never named the people involved or the companies that contributed. Now he wants to change that. He wants to make a movie about his life and finally expose the pedophiles in Hollywood that he has talked about for many years.
Corey released a video today talking about his crowdfunding campaign, and what he needs the money for, via Indiegogo. He also expressed his fear in moving forward with the project. He talked about recent threats to his safety and the legal battle he is up against because of the project.
“I’m very alone but I need to protect myself and I need to protect my family. I need additional security and I need a legal team to help represent me so that I can fulfill this mission.”
He says he is finally ready to expose the actors involved in Hollywood pedophilia.
“Right off the bat I can name six names, one of them who is still very powerful today, and a story that links all the way up to a studio. It connects pedophilia to one of the major studios.”
In a 2016 interview with The Hollywood Reporter he talked about why he was never able to name the people involved and bring cases against them sooner.
“I’m not able to name names. People are frustrated, people are angry, they want to know how is this happening, and they want answers—and they turn to me and they say, ‘Why don’t you be a man and stand up and name names and stop hiding and being a coward?’ I have to deal with that, which is not pleasant, especially given the fact that I would love to name names. I’d love to be the first to do it.”
He continued to mention that legal issues restrict him from taking action.
“But unfortunately California conveniently enough has a statute of limitations that prevents that from happening. Because if I were to go and mention anybody’s name I would be the one that would be in legal problems and I’m the one that would be sued.”
According to the crowdfunding campaign page, Feldman is prepared for the sacrifice he will have to make.
“Ever since Corey announced he was working on a plan to come forward with more information, he has been arrested, had a near death event, and his band quit with no explanation other than saying they were afraid to continue,” a blurb on the page states.
The web page also mentions the measures he is taking to make sure the information is exposed one way or another.
“Firstly as a security measure Corey has already written down the names and details of the events and given them to a trusted person of power, in case anything should happen to him or any member of his family before the film is finished.”
The campaign has so far raised almost $40,000 toward its $10 million goal.
